Re: looking for a Harley Davidson
Perhaps you should consider asking for a custom street bike. Wouldconverting a photo of a "harley" be copyright infringement??
I usually say..."keep the chips flyin' " ...but on this board, "sparks" would fit better!!

Re: looking for a Harley Davidson
A copyright protects a literary, musical, dramatic, choreographic, pictorial or graphic, audiovisual, or architectural work, or a sound recording, from being reproduced without the permission of the copyright owner. The actual motorcycle itself is not copyrightable. A photo or drawing of it may or may not be depending upon who created it.
I don't believe a drawing depicting an image, which might be a Harley or any other product, is copyright protected. Certainly the Harley LOGO is protected, but not the image of what might be one of their bikes itself. A photo of a Harley might be copyrighted, but a drawing made using that photo as a basis may not be. When you make up such a cutting file just don?t be too specific in the exact details. Come up with one that might just "look something like" a Harley Davidson. Like this one:

Re: looking for a Harley Davidson
That is cool!! My first is a Suzuki 650 (666). The next will be a Honda 750 4cyl super sport. I already have the donor bikes, I plan on doing a girder front end on the Suzuki and a springer on the Honda. I am going to make every thing by hand that I can. Gas tank, Fender(s), front controls, handlebars, frame etc...
I will take lots of pictures. You know the sad thing about this???? My eldest daughter is going to Indiana tomorrow to pick up her first bike....a Harley! I can't believe it..

Hey Folks,
For some reason, I can't open zip files since going to Vista. Can someone convert the "Murdercycle to a straight .DXF for me.

Just dug this up! Will be perfect for a business card idea I have, not too detailed and should cut well at a small size. Thanks for the design DumOleBob
