running a plasma cam with different software

I recently bought a go torch which runs the plasma cam software big dissapointment. plasma cam charges a fortune for software upgrades mainly nearly a thousand bucks just to upgrade the software so i can use the 700 dollars worth of longer rails to make my machine bigger. has anyone here been able to convert the machine to run different software or am i stuck paying plasma cam thanks otis

I converted one, but before making a how-to I want to go back and try using the original z-axis drive, I should have more time to play with that this summer

I have a retrofit wiring diagram for the X/Y axii if you want that, but no real instructions yet, and it's fairly complex if you have no experience with servo electronics and mach 3, would be a lot to tackle and the Z axis is not shown
