How do you get decals to come through when you powdercoat.Do you mask them or do they go on after but before a clearcoat? I just bought a new parker ionics cup stand and gun for my shop and I am going to teach myself how to powdercoat.Just curious. Thanks
Most of that stuff in the pictures is not decals but rather multiple colors of powder coat. With the exception of a couple. It took me a while to master that, its tricky, but I think I have it down pretty well now. I have tried to pc over graphics but the only color i have had success with is black, all the others discolor.
Mick,
the hawk was made by a good friend of mine, it is made entirely out of wire that has been shaped, hammered and welded together. His art is amazing. Today I powder coated a dragon that he spent 2.5 months making its pretty awesome. The dragon is made of 1/16 wire and has a little over 1,900 scales on it. I'll post up the pics when I get em off the cam.
I use custom cut masks that I make, to acheive the detail in the different colors. Or use a custom vinyl sticker, it depends on what it is and how nice I want it to be. All powder makes an awesome finish to a sign!!.
