use for scrap
had a pile of 6"-8"x48 scrap getting rusty and in the way. my wife asked if i could make her our last name and make it stand, so i did. our freinds saw it and ordered one. there friend saw there and ordered one. and so on. it seems like every one i sell i get two orders. great use of scrap and the biggest single selling item i make. i make the lettering 4" high with a 2" band and couple feet. don't offer choices of font (except for that one) and get $10 per letter. mostly cash, thats a lot pocket money

Re: use for scrap
My scrap pile got another look this week due to this thread. I was shocked at the waste.
Now I have a file of stupid little things that fit the unused parts of a sheet.
And,,, darned if it isn't a popular bunch of stuff. I keep them around to fill out an oven with spare room during a curing session, coat them with the powder I'm shooting and get some more efficiency there too.
These,,, and a lot of much smaller stuff, like leaves and windchime clappers.
