Re: Project in the beginning
Hi Bjorn,
I hope too you can show some more pics as you manufacture it. Did you cut the worm gear set yourself. If so what metal did you use and did you get it hardened afterwards (self or hardening shop). Is that a geroller / gerotor type motor (low speed high torque), nothing will stop that gear wheel from turning LOL
I've got a little digger too, made a grab and a rake for mine.
Good luck with your project, love to see more,
Keith

Re: Project in the beginning
Hi Keith
Both the worm gear and the motor is from a Ramsey winch
I'll try to get a smaller motor in the future, this motor is only for try to see if everything
is working as I have planned

Re: Project in the beginning tiltrotator mini excavator
The gearbox completed
Next challenge will be the plates for the tilt
Think I must do some lineboring after welding

Re: Project in the beginning tiltrotator mini excavator
This is great, keep posting on this project and more pictures.
How are you going to control this?
I disconnected the hydraulic jack that was used to extending the track frame and connect it to the rotor motor.
And discontented the horn button and, I am going to use that to control the tilt jack.
Thanks
Hanix

Re: Project in the beginning tiltrotator mini excavator
The control of rotor will be with a 6/2 valve on the boom swing

Tiltrotator mini excavator
Now it's very close to first testrun
I have to mount a 6/2 valve for the boom swing
and a crossover valve to reduce the pressure for the hydraulic motor

First testrun
http://youtu.be/6abl7qCBYSc
It works great, but something have to be adjusted in the hydraulic circuit
It takes 180 bar to move the rotor, I have mountet a 6/2 valve on the boom swing and it
takes 180 bar to move the boom swing to.
So I think there is some flow reduction somewhere, but I can't find it.

Re: Tiltrotator mini excavator
Hi Hanix
I finally solved the hydraulic problem
It is a loadholdning valve for the boom sving in the main valve
So what I have to do was switching the functions so the tilt now is operated
with the boom sving valve.
Now it works, but a little problem is to learn to operate the tilt with the left switch instead
of the right switch, but I think practice will solve the problem
Here how it works:

Some pictures of the bucket I made
