I know this might be a very silly question, but I'm still very new to all this cnc stuff. I can run mine, but that's about it.
What would it take to convert my torchmate cnc to run off another brand control box? Why you ask, simple, I am about fed up with screwing up sheets of material due to not having height control and can't justify the $3k+ of torchmate. Would it be less to buy THC and a control box and cables for another brand and convert mine?

Go to www.candcnc.com they have drive electronics and torch height controls that will retrofit well to a Torchmate.

Re: Converting Torchmate to something else?
Did you make the switch to another controller?
I'm on my third set of cables and second VFC box in less than 6 months with Torchmate. Have yet to make two consistent cuts in a row.
If you made the switch I'd be interested in hearing how it went.
thx

I could get all new candcnc stuff for less than the TM height controller
I did it 2 years ago and have not regretted it since

Re: Converting Torchmate to something else?
Flashcut also has a great package with integrated height control that is almost plug and play on a Torchmate.....all for less $ than just the height control. All new , easy you use software as well...
