considering switching to sheetcam TNG for CAM

Other than the cost, what is the difference between the two versions?

Thanks!

there is no cost difference you buy the license and it works for both.
The difference is between TNG and Developer. Developer has more options and tools they both work the same too.

sheetcam tng has only one program
they also offer a developmental version that has upgrades that may include bugs and is ''developmental''

Les responds very quickly when questions are posed.
Maybe the different in price is if you buy Mach from them and include SheetCam at the time.
I think I paid $175 when I bought SheetCam

Right

Les did respond and answered the question
The upgrade refers to "OLDER" installation of sheetcam
So now I am going to download Sheetcam and start using it and with the current exchange rate it is more like $160 :)

I take it you are happy with Sheetcam? I have been using EnRoute for 4 years , very poor support and not intuitive
I really like that Sheetcam has so many color options to differentiate and create contrast The only thing so far that looks like a workaround is needed ,at least for me, is if I need to resize an object (I may cut a design one time at 20X10, and the next time at 10X5) Looks like I need to change the source DXF instead of re sizing on the fly

SheetCam is great
If you want to change the scale just start like you are doing a new project run sheetcam and import the drawing you want.
when you get to the "drawing options you can select custom if its a DFX or with SVG you are there anyway and change the ratio in the box. When it comes up in the working envelope use the curser to measure it X size and Y side you will find this on the bottom of the page. If its not the right size do new job and bring the drawing back in and change the ratio up or down to your liking. There may be another way by drawing a box around it and using that to change things. I know you can use the box to high light things to erase and other things I have not done this.

as mentioned you can change the scale when you import the drawing file
you can download sheetcam for free and try it out, it will actually do small files without a license
i have the registered sheetcam on the plasma pc and an unregistered copy on the cad pc where i draw
that way i can check out a dxf file for cutting before emailing it to the plasma pc
you just can't post process the bigger files, unregistered is limited to 180 line of gcode
plus you get unlimited support here on this forum

nice 58 truck artwork, there's also a 58 truck file on this forum
it's a lot more complicated and would need to be cut out large
mind sharing your file?

this old thing???
it's been a lot of fun to drive over the past 5 years and 25,000 miles
