I made this mailbox for my father in law just used a Home Depot box on a custom stand.

I know this is an old thread, but its title leads me to believe anyone looking for a mail box idea might be interested in something like this. I would never spend $2k-4k for a mailbox and I don't think anyone else would in their right mind, but here are a few that I saw today looking for ideas because I want to replace mine. It wont happen anytime soon and I wont make one out of 1/4 plate like they did because I'll hopefully be moving soon.
