Scanning Images

Post by Crawdaddy »

What is the best way to scan images? I am scanning parts using Paint, and then importing them into the Plasma Cam software. They are not scanning in very clean. How does everyone else scan images?

Thanks.

Ok here are my thoughts

- scan line drawings if possible for example instead of

"frog picture" http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/frog-1.jpg

use "frog drawing http://www.biology-resources.com/drawin ... -frog.html

save as monochrome bitmap

import then select import and select background colors (mostly white if you use monochrome)

Play with the hole width and speckle width by hitting next and previous soon you'll figure them out

same with bitmap and line smoothing

you'll soon figure out that starting with a clean line image is really a timesaver. Hint - buy some clear plastic sheets

and use a sharpie to trace a picture then scan it. Super fast and very clean imports.
