Machine takes off, conversion problem?

Post by biohazardbill »

I have had an issue on a couple things lately where the image appears fine etc but as it starts to cut the machine will just take off in a straight line going who knows where.

I did a try run and the last line it ran was 3310:

N3290 G03 X1.0141 Y5.3442 I2.2578 J0.0463
N3300 G01 X1.0146 Y5.3350
N3310 G03 X1.0153 Y5.3197 I167.7311 J8.2709
N3320 G03 X1.0337 Y5.0376 I6.1910 J0.2613
N3330 G03 X1.0924 Y4.2912 I17.7236 J1.0180
N3340 G03 X1.1011 Y4.1830 I4.7298 J0.3271
N3350 G02 X0.9186 Y4.3086 I0.5951 J1.0601

Any ideas what is happening to cause it to just run off into no mans land or what I can do to fix the issue...

Currently I am using AI to create the file and Inkscape to convert the AI file to SVG (had some problems with AI exporting), then open the svg with sheetcam. This is on a dynatorch machine.

Update...

Saved as svg from AI this time. The line that was giving me trouble earlier was fine and it did it in another spot.

I wonder if you are having rf noise issues corrupting your data. You might check your table grounding, and make sure your torch lead is not close to any data leads, such as the motor and limit cables. You also might try putting your control box AC thru a UPS to filter out AC line noise.

I had that happen recently as well after I went to the newest version. I redrew and it cleared up. Not sure what the issue was but unfortunately my error wasn't a dry run. killed a piece of metal.

.

That's a big one hundred and sixty seven on the 'I'. Rarely does Sheetcam pop out a bad bunch of lines. Even Mastercams most complex version needs restarting occasionally. Maybe you could try a restart.
