I have been planning on getting set up to do CNC plasma for a few years. I'm just entering the fray, likely will have my full set up this summer.
So, in preparation I found this place in doing research. Awesome resource!
I am teaching myself QCAD and Inkscape. I'm planning on buying a 5x10 Arclight Dynamics unless I find the time to build my own.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to getting through the steep part of my learning curve and getting my business and creativity unleashed.

Re: Just getting started
Welcome. I finished my build less than a year ago. I wish I practiced Inkscape like you are.

Re: Just getting started
Welcome aboard, very smart to start with the things you will need for setting up projects, next will be SheetCam (free for demo version for small plans) this creates the G-codes. I'm sure you have looked at Arclight's wed site for the videos they have posted. Many helpful posts here for Inkscape use the search function in the upper right or under the category Inkscape here.
