I am just starting a 5 X 10 table with HT PM 65, Precision Plasma gantry and planning on using CandCNC controls. Any and all recommendations welcome.
I will be using the plans from Precision Plasma, but dropping the bottom tubes lower for caster fitment, and for the water pan I plan on using 3x2 rect. tube on top of 14GA sheet.
Thanks in advance

Whatever you do. Do not make the picture frame set up water table. It warps like crazy when trying to weld the edges of the sheet to the angle, even tube in your case. Have a piece cut at the corners and have it break bent and just weld the corners together. Use 10ga maybe to do this.

OK, I will try to find a shop with a brake large enough to do the pan.
Thanks for the tip!

That's a great idea! I made my water tray from separate pieces of 11 ga. steel and it did bow up in the middle of the bottom about 1/2" when I welded it up. It's not too bad though and still works fine.TJS wrote: Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:13 am Whatever you do. Do not make the picture frame set up water table. David,
I actually had to make brackets that attached to my cross members. Then I tack welded threaded rod to the bottom of that water table sheet metal. The studs protruded thru holes in the flat stock brackets I made and I was able to "pull" the offended areas back down to a reasonable flatness. I have a vid on YT on this. I will see if I can find it.
