Intro from down under

Post by skookem »

Hi Guys I'm from Melbourne Vic Australia I'm an engineering tradesman average fabricator and always wanted a profile cutter.
Last year I got a second hand Chinese CNC router it's a 1200x1800 work area but it's not really a hobby machine it's made from a 200mm square tube .. It came with NC studio and as many will tell that is outdated garbage so after upgrading the controller to centroid acorn I've gathered enough confidence to do other CNC building projects as a car and motorsport guy I have way too many projects already so the next step for me is I'm going to make 2 water trays and a plasma torch mount probably even an acetylene torch mount for that machine. I'm hoping to later pick up a bit of contracting work fabricating at home perhaps make some kind of products ..

Do you guys use tapatalk or is there a better android app these days to inerphase the forums on your phone?

I have a lot of little issues and questions to address I will try to put them in the right parts of the group

Welcome aboard Skooken, like the old saying you got to start somewhere. Doing an upgrade give you more insight into the working of a table.
Lots of posted files here that may help, you can use the search function in the upper right. There may even be some mates from Melbourne for a onsite visit signed on here.

Welcome to the forum! I am familiar with Centroid Acorn and have 2 or them being used to run cnc router/mills. I haven't tried it with plasma. I don't know anything about the android apps - I do all of my interfacing with the forums on my Windows 10 computer.
