Hello from South Dakota
Heyo! Super new and super green to the plasma world. Crept on this page for just a little bit here... Background on me is: Plasma experience is in the autobody industry. Had one at the shop to do random and various cutting. Nothing crazy. Had my own body shop for 14+yrs. During that time bought a Langmuir table when they very first released them. Batch 2 I believe I got in on so a "Legacy" table I believe. Got it because of the startup special they offered and thought it'd be fun to have at the shop. Long story short we used it very very little, just sat around "in the way" for years. And what use it did get was by one of my guys, not me. Took it with me when I sold the business (end of last year). Cutter stayed with the biz... Now I'd like to use it to get myself familiar and fluent in table work, and ultimately scale into a small business. Doing the artsy stuff for fun, but focusing on production style runs for manufacturing or the like. Wherever the demand is really. So only have the table. Seems like the expansion kit and the THC upgrades are no brainers..? And yet to buy a cutter. Hypertherm seems to be unarguably the best. LOTS of opinions on the SYNC system! The jury is still out on that tho??? 45XP or 85SYNC is what I'm debating currently (among many other things
). What else am I not mentioning? Looking forward to this journey and hoping to learn much from the folks in the industry. That's it. Thanx for reading! Have a great day!

Welcome aboard, long story, time to get working with the table. Many here to help with questions, and many files for you to download for projects.
There are many Langmuir users here along with the other members. You can also use the search function in the upper right for a quick look around.
The model of Hypertherm you buy depends on the thickness of the metal you want to work with. Have fun

Re: Hello from South Dakota
Welcome to the forum! I really like the Hypertherm cutters, and have both the 45xp and Powermax 85 (non-sync). It sounds like you have (or had) the original Crossfire table. I would really recommend getting the 45xp. They are non-sync and work great for anything up to 5/8" thick (occasional cuts) and really great for thinner. If you are doing mostly artistic pieces then I expect you may be cutting a lot of 14 ga. using the FineCut consumables. That's a great way to go. Let us know how you make out and good luck to you.
