*New product update - 2024 Star Lab Torch mount (Fits 2015-2023)

Post by BTA Plasma »

Torch mount changes in effect the last few weeks. This new mount allows a jam nut on the 4 90 degree set screws and has a strain relief tab for the collision sensor. New mount fits all Star Lab made from 2015+. Has wider mouth for more wires to run (like ohmic wire). New mount comes without magnets or collision sensor or outer clamps. Does have 90 degree set screws and jam nuts. The jam nuts are a much better solution than poly screws (2 set screws, 1 on top of another). In addition the mount has a much tighter gear rack clearance channel that works better with out line and red dot laser.

Apologize it is showing burrs. Our staff is accelerating the pace we modify and increase productivity on our machines so fast they even forgot to full deburr this part. So a little blurb on our Z axis. We went with a fully in house engineered design. The collision sensor coupled with a magnetic breakaway allows us to swap between oxy fuel and plasma in less than 2 seconds (If your a quick draw) and also because it is a swiss army knife machine the operator can grab the torch off and it mounts on an aux plate and bolt a router on. We had to have our own super strong magnetic design as well as a limit system in the Z axis for upper and lower travel. Because plasma cutting is pretty rough on switches all our switches either have to be potted in rubber (Ballistic) or IP67 water protection. We also spent time designing for an least amount of switches possible and easy repair in case one does go out. We use honeywell switches.
