I had a request for a small Barn Quilt for his wifes "She Shed"! Only 2' x 2' he wanted a "Denim" color but I didn't have any Powder coat that looked like that so I talked him into the Rally Blue that is translucent so it shows grinding marks to change colors in different light! The backer is a silver ore but looks white in the picture! Hope someone can use it!

Re: Barn Quilt
Is it taped, or possibly a layered sign?

Consider this ...
In fact, the BLUE paint could also be done on a single layer using the same technique.

Re: Barn Quilt
Well designed barn quilts in the 96"x96" to 120"x120" range will sell for a few hundred dollars all day long here in Kentucky. A diligent worker could probably make two or three of them in a week. They are NOT a quick project.

Barn quilts are very popular here! They are usually made in four panels, 4x4 or 5x5 panels that are attached to a barn either butted together, or slightly overlapping one another. They are most commonly square, but I have seen barn quilts that are rectangular and even round.
I had toyed with the idea of using DesignEdge to create a barn quilt with 12" to 16" square panels, and shipping the "kit" via UPS to all parts of America, but I never followed through. The smaller tiles could be attached to 4x4 sheets of plywood or another outdoor board like PVC panels, and hung as four segments. I would include thin stainless steel backing plates with the holes aligned for easy assembly, and top and bottom tabs for attaching the quilts to a wall.
I could make them using a router and colored acrylic panels, or colored PVC panels, or simply drawing the design with a pen and then hand painting them, using stencils and spray paint. Each stencil would be the shape of a particular segment of the quilt.
Random, colorful quilts sell well, but some people want specific colors, or a specific theme, that may relate to the farm's history, or a family crest, or something else of personal importance to the client.
When I build my 5x10 laser table this Spring, I may just go after the barn quilt market!

Re: Barn Quilt
I know barn quilts are popular in Kentucky and Tennessee. I wonder about other states like Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, etc. The "Texas Star" is popular down there, and it is fairly easy to make. New Mexico likes the Aztec looking metal art. but I am trying to drift away from metal art per se, and go with other materials, and colors.
