3D Scorpion

Post by Copp3r »

Hey there folks !

I've been working on some 3D art after having seen the Dragonfly that was offered up by another member here on the forums. You'll find attached a 3D Scorpion for you to have a look at.

I have NOT sized the slot (where the pieces fit together) as of yet and will leave that in your hands. The size of the slots of course will depend on the thickness of the material you wish to use.

Anyway, let me know what you think and if it's up to muster you may see some more as time moves along.

Cheers !

Roger, that is a beautiful piece. I cut it but my gaps are a bit big. Gonna put it together anyway. I did in 14 gauge. If you could, please tell me how I calculate the gap size if I wanted to scale it up or down?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

If the slots are to scale for material ( some people don't make them right) all you need to do is scale the whole drawing. Divide the material that you want to use by the material the drawing was made for ( use decimals for material thickness). Your material/ their material gives you the scale - bigger or smaller. Try it, it works.

You need to adjust the slots, I took a glance at the file and they are anywhere from .108 to .144. The file could use a little cleaning also, but it's a good start.
