oblong shape

i know how to make a oval and round shape but how do you make a oblong shape like a race track ? what do i do to get this

I start with two circles, connect them with straight lines, then delete the remaining half-circles.

I know an old topic but I would draw a rectangle and then fillet the corners.

Like many tasks, there are many ways to accomplish this. Another way is to draw a circle, using the stretch points function (under edit in 3.11) capture half of the circle and drag it the specified distance. Use the orthoganal setting to keep it square, (obviously works only in horizontal or vertical. This method does have limitations but is quick and easy.
