PLEASE HELP ME WITH HEIGHT CONTROL

Help with my height control. I do not know what setting i should use to cut new a-36 steel. Please help. Height control works fine till cutting then will all of a sudden dive towards material.

Ohh it is a dhc2 2009 model with the older plasmacam software.

Try checking the " auto calibrate z shifts" in the height control settings, then cut a test line.

still just dives towards the table.

I see this is an old post.
You did not say which nozzle you have on the torch, the cut speed and amperage. The function for the height control is based on those items and is then is calibrated with the Arc Voltage Shift. As a rule of thumb, increase the Arc Voltage Shift until the torch quits diving.
