Re: large owl
Hope you don't mind, but I can't get the kind of money needed for such a long cutting procedure, so I knocked about 4-1/2 minutes off of it by deleting a few things and rearranging others. I also made the eyes a bit bigger and gave them a bit of a "twinkle" to give it a bit more life. I also made this sitting on a larger tree branch if anyone is interested in the file.
This was a GREAT file, and one of my new favs....thanks!

Re: large owl
michmetalman Can you post the DXF you made with less cuts. I also cant get the money out of long cutting times unless it is a custom piece. Thanks

Re: Large Owl DXF File
Best to use the original file, the second one appears to be a dxf of the cut path rather than the file itself which includes the lead ins and kerf offset. If you look at both drawings side by side you'll see the difference in size of the cut outs within the design.
This has the original file in black and the second or modified in red, if you zoom in you will see the offset.

Re: Large Owl DXF File
30" dxf file for the owl I cleaned it up a bit for my plasma table since we don't have a high quality cutter. Since the original at 20" burnt through most of the connections and bird fell apart. Removed some lines tweaked arrangements and resized. This looks Beautiful at 30".
OH and a huge thank you to the origanl creator and poster of this file.. Woman in my family love this owl.

Re: Large Owl DXF File
What gauge material are you guys cutting this great looking owl in?
And which file did you go with?
And what settings & consumables are you using if using Hypertherm?
Trying to gauge my methods . . .
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Large Owl DXF File
Just click on the file name that appears under the picture of the owl ( new Large-Owl.dxf ) that will allow you to download the file. It works this way for all the downloadable files although the file may be in a different place in the post.metalarts wrote:That is beautiful. I was wondering how we go about downloading. Thanks for.
