Driveway sign

Post by elkriverfab »

Here is a driveway sign I built.

It measures about 55 inches tall and 63 inches wide.

I built the frame from 40 year old 2 X 4's and 2 X 6's

Backed it with angle iron and welded loops for chain.

The scenes stand off the wood 3 inches (can't see it in the photo).

I also used a propane torch to burn the wood for a weathered look and to add depth.

Just thought I would share. :D

Nice work Shawn, the Texas state contour on the gun is a terrific and fitting add on to your art.

Plasma Joe
plasmajoe,

Thanks.

The sign feels like it weighs 100 lbs.
Where I want to hang it is about 30 feet off the ground.

This should be a fun one getting up there.

The wife will have a new helper project :D

We get some good winds here!

Going to chain it on top and each side (bottom corners).

It will probably end up in the living room (through the window) some day.
