Installing Mach 3 XML files to a later version

How do I install the XML files from an older version of Mach 3 to a newer version of Mach 3 ? I copied the Mach 3 XML files from my original version and pasted them into the newer Mach 3 directory. Now the Y axis only controls one stepper motor and can be jogged, by by a completely different keyboard key than the original Mach3 version. Also the X and Z axis steppers are controlled by different keyboard keys.
