Converting Plasmacam ohmic sensing to water table

Has anyone done this? How did it work? I'm planning on moving my Plasmacam to a place where I can't blow a bunch of dust

I have done it.....however the water renders the ohmic sensing unusable from my tests. This was a few years ago. Ohmic sensing will sense the conductivity of any water that may have gotten in the torch or on top of the material.....this causes false and incorrect surface sensing. The Plasmacam height control works fantastic with a dry, downdraft fume control. Jim Colt Hypertherm

I have ohmic sensing and it works fine with my water table. Just keep the water about a 1/2" below the bottom of the material. The ohmic does get confused when there is water on top of the material, but the post flow generally blows any water out of the way before the torch fires. I would recommend it to anyone.

I am adding ohmic sensing to my water table this week - I mostly cut thin material. I searched the post history for issues and see quite a few, but most are old. Are there any good tips or dos and don'ts? Is there a good post to read that I might have missed (too many to read them all)? I was thinking of setting up an air blow off to blow water away from the metal near the torch - are there any issues with doing this? Any suggestions would be helpful.

As Stout mentioned, the post flow usually takes care of the water removal pretty good.
