Total noob here. I just finished setting up my Langmuir Crossfire.
I am just trying to figure out how to use Fusion 360 to make these gun racks for a closet.
Can anyone help? I think these are really cool.
Thanks

Re: Help With Gun Rack
not sure what a Langmuir Crossfire is, but i like that rack. I need to build a rack or racks to transport 50+ rifles for my sons JROTC drill team trailer. I found this military design, but it would have to be modified for their rifles. I'm not good enough at drawing this stuff or I would offer to help. With that said, good luck with your build.Foundit wrote: Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:14 pm Total noob here. I just finished setting up my Langmuir Crossfire.

I'll help you draw it up if you want. It would be in SVG format if that works for you.
You planning on cutting it out of wood or metal?

Are you needing help with how to draw the in Fusion360, or how to get them into a cuttable format for the Langmuir? If you have them drawn in Fusion, you can right-click on the sketch containing the part you want, and "save as DXF" to your computer. Then transfer the DXF to the Langmuir software to complete setting up the cut.Foundit wrote: Fri Feb 15, 2019 1:14 pm Total noob here. I just finished setting up my Langmuir Crossfire.

The sketch you use to make the DXF should be clean, with no extra lines, etc. Any line in the sketch will be considered a line you want to cut.
I can draw that up in Fusion in a few minutes and share the file with you. If you need any help with the Langmuir software, I have a friend with one, I can call on him if needed.
Good luck,
Bill

Langmuir is the new low end plasma tables they are offering for around $1400. No z axis available and can only use a hand torch is what I'm understanding. I'm curious as to what the owners think after using them.ETCWeld wrote: Fri Feb 15, 2019 8:53 pmnot sure what a Langmuir Crossfire is, but i like that rack. Re: Help With Gun Rack
Lots of folks are using machine torches with them. Stock mount is okay for that but there's an owner who also sells an add-on to make machine torches more sturdy in the mount as well.
A couple of guys are building Z-Axis controls for it (and the electronics board they use supports a Z-axis control - they just didn't include it in the base package/initial release).

That's what they were aiming for, an entry level table that wouldn't cost 10 or 20 grand. It's only 2x2 and 2-axis but the open X gantry lets you use longer wider material so it's not as confining as it might seem. there are also a number of folks extending it to 2x4 (& they have a 2x4 expansion on deck, just waiting on getting their first year's orders out the door - they run about a 6 or 8 week backlog now I think).ETCWeld wrote: Mon Feb 18, 2019 11:42 am thats a far cry from w hat we paid for our Torchmate X 5x10 waterbed included.
Bigger than that and it's too big for most people's garages. It's a good form factor for small projects and art pieces. And a 4x8 sheet of 1/4" weighs enough that you're gonna need a materials handling system add-on...heck, 2x2 1/8" isn't such a lightweight piece that's easy to throw on

Re: Help With Gun Rack
Fusion 360 has an Save As DXF option available from the Model workspace. Enter the Model workspace and locate the sketch containing the profile you want to cut, right click and choose Save As DXF. With this dxf you can check the scaling in your CAD/CAM and cut your rack. Hope this helps.
