Chicago (burbs) checkin in

Post by Engineering »

Hey All,

New to this site and plasma, but not fab and machine work.

I just acquired a small plasma table to scratch an itch and hold me off until I can cut my teeth a bit. Got my eye on on JD2 MAD full size, but unfortunately their delivery schedule couldn't guarantee delivery by the end of the year.

I've got a small shop that I work out of and hand out and make stupid stuff mainly for shits-and-grins with my buddies.

Looking forward to taking advantage of what this site has to offer and hope to contribute the same.

Cheers,
Kevin.

@Weldguy
Too late... Burnt through 2 full sheets between settin up, dialing in and making quickie things... Material is gonna be the cost, gotta find a way to offset these costs. LOL

Start with a good street sign outside of your house, let the neighbors know what you can do..

@SegoMan
Great idea! Can't get into trouble for self sustaining hobbies... It's not just for beer money now. LOL

My machine came with a small library of files, but after consideration it appears there's a plethora of copyrighted things that I'm going to avoid.
I've cut some 16ga hot rolled, but want to figure out Aluminum and Stainless. I live in a boating community and I'm confident my neighbors will geek out on that.
