Flamingo garden stake

My wife found someone making these things out of PVC and asked me if I could make a few for her. I thought that maybe someone else here might have a wife that likes to add to their honey do list... like it ain't long enough already...

Anywho...
Here is a picture of the finished project as well as a CDR, DXF, and a B&W image in case you can't make those two work. I made them out of 14 ga steel with a 24" piece of 1/4" rod for a leg.

Hope you have fun painting them, I didn't.

I saw that video too. They were a bunch of em spinning and bobbing in the wind.
Looks like a socket was strategically tack welded under the flamingo, and it sat on a pole semi- balanced. The wind did the rest.
My only question would be where to bend it up to get it balanced correctly. I suppose a few small plates tack welded strategically would solve that dilemma if a balance point could not be found with a socket/pipe.

I have not seen that video but its a great idea and I think if I were to do it I would attach a spring tot he bottom of the bird and mount that in a bearing race so it could turn and wobble without having to fiddle with trying to get the balance correct.

I found this:

Wondering if .06-ish thick aluminum would work best for us plasma folks.
The ones that are made and sold commercially from PVC, would be much lighter than a 14 or 16 gauge mild steel body, and may dance better based on its weight. plus they have some sort of proprietary hinge & swivel lift off socket.. and a galvanized garden stake/ mounting pole
