New to the forum- did a search and didn't find anything to help. My DHC machine went down today. I would like to know how to diagnose if it's a bad controller or something else. It does not appear to be getting power at the controller. Is the cord very specific or could one from my computer monitor tell me if its a bad cord of if the controller has died? I get a communication code = 128 on the screen and no lights on the controller. I have done everything as far as unplugging etc that is says to do on the screen...
Thanks in advance- Brian

Hi Brian,
Do you have the power switch on the controller panel set to the "ON" position? If yes, then you can use a DVM (digital volt meter) or multimeter to check that the end of the power cord that plugs into the controller has ac power. Just plug the cord into an ac outlet (with the other end disconnected from the controller) and measure the other end to make sure it has approximately 115-120VAC across the terminals. If you do have power at the end of the cord, but when you plug the end into the controller and turn the controller on and the controller does not turn on, then perhaps you have a blown fuse inside the controller. Let us know what you find out and we will proceed from there.

Thanks for your response! I finally got a buddy out with a DVM and the cord is fine. I have power at the on/off switch but not at the stop button.

Have you checked the glass fuse?

I'm not sure where that is located. I'm really no good at dissecting these things.

I assume that you opened up the controller to check the power at the stop button and on/off switch. This is a glass fuse, also located inside the controller. Post some photos of the inside of your controller so we can help you identify the fuse.

Attached is all the further I dug into it. I was afraid to make things worse than they already are by digging in anymore.
I really appreciate your time on this!!!

I would take a look at the back of the circuit board, or under the circuit board for a fuse.

David-
The fuse was indeed blown and my power switch was junk. Thank you again for your time.

Hi Brian,
I'm happy to hear you've found the problem. Are you up and running again?
