Few things take long to get the jest of....buying a cnc is NOT ONE!
Want 4X8 table
Prices range from $3500 to over $100,000
They all look the same! What’s compatible? What software is most user friendly? Can I use my 50 amp or do I need a new one? What hypotherm?
My budget is $12k
Can someone point me in a few right directions? Please

Re: Buying first cnc plasma
Here is one that I like. The owner started with the Plasmacam Go Torch ($2995 + $140 shipping), spent another $2500 with Plasmacam for the rails, harnesses and software upgrade to adjust table size to 4 x 8, $300 for grates, and around $300 for steel. Nicely done! Add in a Hypertherm 45xp, computer/monitor, and exhaust fan and you would come in well under your budget.
The Plasmacam Go Torch comes with the basic Design Edge software - which will allow you to run the table and import cut files generated from other programs. Some of the more popular free programs include Inkscape, Fusion 360, Sheetcam, and several others.
