Testing new cutting design program

Post by vmax549 »

HI Guys and Gals, I have been testing a cutting design program called MAKE THE CUT is is a vector cutting program used in the crafting, vinyl ,paper cutting world.

My wife and daughter use it for crafting with a CriCut. I was watching them work and noticed they were doing the same things I did for plasma only they did it 10 times faster than I could and in some cases did a much better job of it.

SO after a little studying and testing it is a VERY nice program that CAN be used in plasma design work. It outputs in several of the native Vector modes and it is possible that they could write a plugin to output it in DXF format as well.
I take it from SVG straight into Scam.

Might be worth a minute to check it out, the price is VERY reasonable. and the support seems top notch.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

It looks pretty simple and easy to learn. Have you tried converting a photo the cut?
Thanks Dawg

I tried a photo of a plasma art object that I took and it worked very well but it also had high contrast as I took it in my photo studio I set up just for plasma art pictures.

I am not a wizard in working with normal type photos.

ONE thing that IS a big time savers is MTC uses TTF fonts and can WELD (merge the letters into a single cutout) TEXT.
I sometimes spend a LOT of time just manipulating text on a project as a positve object.

I do know there is a LOT of training films on You Tube about the make the cut software. You may want to take a look at the Vids to see if it answers your question.

The MTC forum is also very active, log on and ask the question there. THERE are some WIZARDS there(;-)

Just a thought(;-) TP
