3"high at 100yds target stencil
For those of us Old Timers who hold to the old doctrine of "3 high at 100" for our 30-06 rifles here is a stencil I made to make cheap targets. I use 18" wide butcher freezer paper shiny side down and black spray paint. I use the target at 100 yds with my rifle already sighted fairly close. The squares and circle are 1" and duplex crosshairs set nicely in the four squares. When sighting on the 4 squares prints 5 shots inside the circle then I know my bullet is within the breadbasket of a deer all the way out to about 350yds with a point blank sight picture. This is for a 165gr bullet with a BC of .466 at 2700fps. With ballistic tables you can customize the height of the circle to your own specific cartridge. An inexpensive way to make multiple targets!
