Fish Wall Hanging

Post by C_R_DeJong »

Im still pretty new to creating metal art but I thought I'd share a piece I made for my office. I grew up in Alaska but now live in Arizona (hense the northwestern influence with the southwestern style). The wall mount is about 6 feet long and has both hot and cold patinas on it.

Wow! You mustn't be that new at it! Or you are just a natural. That is unbelievable! True artistic work!

What kind of metal did you use? I am curious as you had used hot patinas as well, and arent those usually for copper, brass and bronze?

Very very excellent work

the material used is merely 20g steel. I infused a tiffany green with paint containing copper to create the effect in the middle of the fish.

Thank you. I never thought I'd enjoy this as much as I am. I have only had my table for 5 months so I am still learning many of the CADing short cuts and have found the discussions within this forum very helpful and engaging. I ended up buying a touchsmart computer that enables me to draw my images directly on the screen.

I just used welding rod and tig welded them together in random, overlapping ways.

Wow, I am new to the whole thing myself, so new that I just ordered my machine today. Burntables.com, I bought a 4x8 table with a hypertherm 65. Can't wait to get started!
