Refurbished Powermax 65

Jim,

I saw on Ebay a Powermax 65 " Factory Refurbished" Unit with a 3 year factory warranty. Is that a legitimate product and whats your opinion. Since my last post, I left the shop I was at and have started a metal fab shop with my son. We can't afford a CNC table yet, but need a plasma cutter and every penny counts.

I would trust it if it is listed by an authorized Hypertherm dealer. Find out who the seller is and you can either let me know....or you can see if they are a dealer through the Hypertherm website. There are maybe 15 or so Powermax65's annually that meet the refurbish requirements and they get snapped up by dealers quickly. Refurbished means that the unit likely had some sort of warranty failure in the first few minutes of cutting....or it was Dead out of the box. It went back to the factory for evaluation, was repaired and then run through an extended final test and burn in. In reality it has gone through a more thorough final checkout than a new unit!

Hypertherm offers an additional discount to our dealers on these units...so the dealer offers an additional discount as well. We (Hypertherm) have no control over the final pricing...

I have been scanning daily for something along these lines as well.
Here is the Ebay link. They have a 65 and and 85 on refurb price. Store is SGWELD STore on ebay.
