how to reduce the size of a DFX file

Post by acourtjester »

Hi
I am using Turbo cad 18 for my drawing program (cheap I know) as a DIY guy it's all I can afford. My problem is I do not know how to reduce the size of the DFX output file. I can change the scale of the drawing but this seems to have the opposite effect. I went from a file size of 1.3M to 2.3 m by reducing the drawing size itself. The drawing is to complicated to redraw (dragon). If I draw a part and save it the file size is about 350K. I have tried copy and paste but that was no help. I want to share the DFX file here but the size is too large to upload.
Thanks
Tom

I would look for a forum dedicated to Turbocad. They may be able to help you much more.

In Coreldraw the number of nodes can make a difference to the file size. I don't know if Turbocad has a way of reducing nodes. Is there any options in the saving/exporting of dxf files that you could play with.
