I have a older ESAB table with what they call a soft touch height control that needs work.
It will be over a $1000.00 from ESAB to get a new board for it. I dont want to spend the
money on it because all of the electronics need to be replaced sometime soon.
Is there a cheaper alternative that I can use until the electronics upgrade?
Just as a side not I have been looking at machmotion for the electronics upgrade
but still undecided. I hope my controler will last a year or longer. It is a Vision 500 and
Esab will no longer service them. Machmotion wants around $12,000 for eveything and
Esab wants $15,000 just for a new controler.
Thanks,
Mike

Just as another option, you could use CandCNC components. "WSS" did a retrofit on his Dynatorch table successfully, starting with post #125 here: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/dynatorch ... og-11.html

Re: Aftermarket Height Control?
Thank you for the link. A lot of good info.
I contacted CandCNC before. One thing they said was I could not use my current plasma
with his setup. I think it had something to do with the high frequency on my plasma.
