Bender carnage

Post by HammerDownJustin »

Do not insert the wrong pin in your tube bender. Has been reliable for about 10 years and we machined the die a little larger for larger tube. Then I thought that was binding it up. Then boom and realized I put a short pin in that didnt grab the arm below so that is why it was binding up until breakage. My buddy turned and said Im glad you have a cnc table..lol

Looks like they need to make the holes a different size to make so you can not insert the wrong length pin or all pins the same length. Simple design change, better product in the long run.

I have done this myself but I noticed it before it broke.

I wish someone would post a dxf for the most popular bender ever built, the JD2 Model 3.
