measuring on plasma cam dhc2

Post by Rockenjvdesign »

This is weird but has anyone ever typed in say 10.375 and it makes it 10.401 instead? How do you fix this? I'm trying to make some stuff that needs to be right on the money thanks in advance :?:

Thats strange, never had that happen, but try drawing a line any length and offsetting that line 10.375 (when offsetting hold ctrl while you click on first line to offset so it leaves original line as well) then connect the two with a line and see if it gives you the correct measurement.

So is it measuring different on the screen or when you cut?? If you are drawing something 10.375 and it cuts it bigger, you need to change your offset for converting cut paths to a different number. What do you have for your kerf offset number?

I dont know if this has anything at all to do with it, but try and see if it is trying some node snap or something. Mess with your general snap settings, like turn them all off and see if it will give you what you want then.

Do you have snap to grid checked? This is probably what is going on.

Does it measure wrong in the program or does it cut wrong?

I may be grasping at straws as it has been a while since I dealt with DE lately, but I would maticulousely check that all the settings in the design page are correct.

Email me a copy of your plasmacam file (ready to cut) for the part you are having an issue with. Let me know what you have set in your software for width of cut (kerf), and what material type and thickness, as well as what nozzle and power level you are using. I'll put it in my Design Edge and check it out to see what is going wrong.
