Plate marker
Here is a shot of the new plate marker I made to go on my table. After pricing after market markers I decided to make my own. Thought some of you might like a peek.

Re: Plate marker
I'm not sure, but I'm guessing he may use it to test a cut before actually cutting it so as not to waste steel in case it messes up. Just a guess though.

Re: Plate marker
I have lost two jobs in the last year because I could not mark part numbers on the pieces for the customers. This will fix that! Plus I can now accurately mark hole centers for holes that require drilling.

Re: Plate marker
Nice job POB...I am in the process of developing a marker for my PlasmaCam. BTW, I looked at your build on CNC you did a great job on your table. I bought all the electronics, servos, breakout boards etc. to do my own but I got so busy that It was more cost/time effective for me to just buy a table. I still plan on building one so I can use a router/torch setup. I have a track torch which does me ok for straight cuts and circles.

Hey Bill awesome job on that build was wondering if you would mind posting the parts list for this type of build I've also looked at after market ones and the 2600 is hard to swallow thanks fitzy.

Re: Plate marker
Fitzy I got most of the stuff for the build off Ebay. The solenoids, air pressure regulators and the scribe. The air fittings and hose I got from MSC. I had the aluminum I used to make a new mounting plate for the Z axis to hold the torch and the scribe on the same plate and I had the alum. to make the scribe mount also. The pneumatic slide was also from Ebay. All together I probably have $500 in it. Sheetcam is my Gcode generator and it is really working well with the scribe. Oops I did get a new torch holder from Ebay too to replace the junkier one I had made myself. The torch holder was 49 bucks and there is no way I could make one as good for that.
All in all I think this one works just as well as a commercially purchased would and it was a lot cheaper too!

Re: Plate marker
I did not see a direct link for the holder but here is their website. There is a contact button there you can send theman email or call them. I think the torch holder I got was 40 some odd bucks. Their quality is top notch! No way I could make one as nice myself.
