Re: Welcome elk
Size?
Finish?
My prices are dictated by the local market. After spending every Friday at the local Farmers Market getting my presence known, I've stopped taking anything over $35.00 for the display.
This is for pieces that sell on the competitor's website for $45.00-60.00, plus shipping.
Getting 'known' is tough. It all depends on the savvy of your customers. Those that have 'priced' similar items will jump at the price, but around here, everyone just assumes that they can get it at WallMart for ten bucks.

Re: Welcome elk
You got to love walmart...........
Walmart is good for one thing.....AMMO! and when they ask if you are going to use it in a handgun, say "NO"
In my opinion $35.00 would be way to low for a piece like this.
AnotherDano is right though. This is why I stopped making metal art for events, they want to low ball it to the point I cant make it.
I started making larger more custom pieces and charge high, high, high.
This way my work stands out over everybody at the event and if there are any other metal art guys, they end up being the wall art guy!
Selling cut out's and small desk stuff.
I tried selling stuff like your photo and I spent the time, and made the effort to make them detailed and very custom.
I was then told I should try selling stuff I made and not manufactured overseas ???????????????????????
They could not get that I was designing and making this stuff.
It was not bought for resale!
So....I started building wet bars (like the ones on art4metalworking).
Started building custom coffee tables with outrageous scenes and stuff like that.
I realized I could not do the $35.00 pieces with all the time and effort I had into them, it was a waist.
I was at an event one day and saw a guy that made outdoor benches and BBQ pits......The day was slow and nobody was spending money.
His benches were simple, metal with a little wood and a very small cut out in the center.
Powder coated too.
These things were smoking out the tent at $600.00 each.
He told me to stop with the metal art and go with a product, he said my entire outlook would change on the event thing!
So now I spend several weeks building bars, tables and larger stuff to make myself stand out. I also make sure my designs are not something you can find anywhere else.
Now instead of hoping to sell a $25.00 item, I watch people look at spending $600.00 plus per piece and they know if they don't buy it, they cant go to walmart and get it.
I do like your saw blade elk welcome sign, very cool.

Re: Welcome elk
I dunno about the states, but with that sawblade behind it, you could get probably $250 - $350 here in Canada

Re: Welcome elk
The sawblade is 54" diameter, far as the finish it is just clear coated, I left the blade rusty. Including the stand I have about $160 in to it.
Thanks Guys

Re: Welcome elk
Love it, BUT if it were me, I would stain the wood so the treated wood matches the 2x4's, maybe putty the screw holes too and it would be that much more proffessional and you could ask the big bucks for it. Just my 2cents
