I don't have a trucut, but can this be accomplished with a CandCNC rig? Is this just a different "tool"? If so what kind of settings would you start with? I am currently working on setting up a scribe, but this looks like it would be useful too.

No, it is a feature of the Victor XT Control and Ultra Cut Plazma.
