Best software to get to convert

I am very happy with Corel Draw.

I second corel4x, been playing with inkscape just a little.. Seems okay

I have Bobcad, Autocad and Corel draw X6 and to be honest iam finding Corel draw to be very good for both drawing and generating dxf files. Bobcad is extremely good for my router and milling machine as it generates g code so easily. Corel has a plugin in which exports the drawings directly into my laser-works software.

Never used Coral Draw but I've heard about it over the years.... I use Draftsman Cutting Shop... I think it's a little over a $1,000

Dedicated purely to converting, and priced at $300, Vectormagic. For me it generally seems to work better than Coreldraw and is easier to use, but maybe that is because Coreldraws auto tracing has a lot of options and tick boxes that I don't understand yet.

Seems a lot of graphic professionals that have Coreldraw and Illustrator, prefer to use VM most of the time for doing the converting, even though they have this facility in their graphics programs.

I use CorelDraw for all of my tracing, drawing, drafting etc. but I do also have Vectormagic which I use for auto tracing especially on poorer quality raster files. I find that with Vectormagic although the poorer quality rasters are still not cut ready they are generally a good start to manipulate, if not I go back to CorelDraw and trace it. A good clean raster will auto trace excellently in either but I'm finding most images customers are bringing me now are low quality gif, jpeg or bmp files they have found on the internet.
