Hi, it would be good to post the file you are trying to work with, so we can see it and bring it into our own software to check for obvious (and not so obvious) errors that may be causing the problem.Mattsedgwick wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2020 11:42 am I need help cutting these stupid Holes they keep joining together and I can’t figure out why can someone walk me step by step in kerf settings it’s a hypertherm 65 with fine cut consumable 10g steel Sampson 510 table
Also tell us what software you are using.
I'd love to lay claim to a full understanding of G-Code and such, but the truth is that I am fairly adept at using DesignEdge. The other programs (Corel Draw, Illustrator, Inkscape, etc.) not so much.

Hey Matt, I see you found the group. I was one that was helping you on facebook yesterday. Search for Jim Colt on this forum and read some of his post on hole quality. He works for Hypertherm and has lots of valuable info on here.

Re: Need big-time help
Do you only have BASIC design, or do you have the ADVANCED DESIGN upgrade?
Based on the grid points viewable in the photo, you are trying to cut two very small holes, VERY close together. It CAN be done (maybe), but you have to control the heat, and you have to plot the cut paths correctly. I am not seeing the closed paths you used to create those cut paths, so I do not know how they are laid out. There are no measurements provided in your photos. However, based on what I can see, the closed paths are nearly touching, so yes, that is what would result from cutting them.
If you send me that file so I can look at it, I will make a short video to show you why you are having this problem.

Re: Need big-time help
I spoke with Matt on the phone and hopefully have this sorted out. It was a combination of many things but I believe they're on the right track now.
