Retired old dude in Wyoming

Post by TimKo307 »

I've been involved in design, manufacturing and fabrication in one form or another for 40+ years. I recently retired as a CAD designer and am now in the process of organizing my collection of tools and equipment in my tiny shop/garage.
I got into CNC years ago when 3D printers started to be popular with DIY makers. I bought and built a few kits then started to design and build my own cnc machines including a router and laser engraver.
I've had plasma cutters for a long time and it made sense to build my own cnc plasma table. I started the design about 2 years ago and collected parts and materials based on the requirements I had for size and budget. It was a long process but I now have a small capable table that works very well.

I didn't do this to make money, but more for the joy of making things and learning.
Of course one of my first projects was a fire pit of my own design. And I do sell these mainly for beer (and tool) money.

I still have a lot to learn and enjoy exchanging ideas with like minded people so that's why I joined Plasma Spider.
Thank you,
Tim

My son runs a coffee roasting company over in Laramie. I'm in Cheyenne myself. Sheridan is nice country, I always enjoy my visits up there. I was thinking about running up there this summer until this virus thing hit. Now I'm mostly staying home and working out in the shop.

Well, whenever you do find yourself up this way feel free to stop and say howdy. Always a cold one in the fridge.
