Our Halloween Signs 2011

Post by prattswelding »

My son and I made these signs this year for Halloween. Rather than try and watch TV and get up to answer the door every 5 minutes for 3 1/2 hours, we decided to sit out back at the fire pit and direct our "Trick or Treat" traffic there. We decorated a path beside the house pointed the way with the 1st lighted sign and put the "witch sign" midway to let them know they were on the right path. I built a tray on the back that holds 2- 24" T5 Flourescent light fixtures. (The Free Candy sign measures 30" x 30"). Since I live on a Cul de Sac, my sign is one sided so I had to cover the back of it with a piece of cardboard and a towel to trap the light and get it to illuminate better. Other than that, I think they turned out alright.

Those are both awesome! We're not big on halloween down here in AUS, I believe we had one knock on the door. There were a few more last year and we thought it was growing so we stocked up on treats. Have a whole lot left over, well, we did :D

Wow your one trick or treater should have made quite a haul then. I live in a part of town that gets a lot of kids every year. I'd estimate that we probably had in the neighborhood of 200-300 this year. It isn't uncommon for me to go through about 20 lbs of candy.
