First art to cut- help please

Post by HEMTEC2020 »

Hi

I have been asked to cut the attached dark vader mask for a customer. I have converted to dxf no problem. But I believe when cut out all the parts will be loose. Did I have to make connection around the mask to hold it together. I use autocad.

Just asking as I don't want to waste materials.

Thanks

Looks good except for the area's iv'e colored red, you will lose these. They must be attached some how to something else. I use AutoCad as well along with Corel Draw 8. :D

Why not cut it as separate parts and attach them to a background for a 3-D layered look

This should get you started in the right direction. Haven't tried to cut, it may need some tweaking at the narrow areas.

Hey folks,
while this post is a number of years old, I found I had to go looking for a Darth Vader DXF to pass along a gift to a friend. Here's my rendition (very similar to what's posted) with a few changes to smooth out lines, etc.

The pattern has been powder coated: Obsidian Black on the outer face and Silk Satin Black forming the recessed / back area.

Hope it helps out anyone in need...
