Re: 4x4 welding table help
here is one version I have drawn. I laser cut and carefully welded to reduce excessive heat. Because of the puzzle tabs, the table assembled very flat and stable. I will upload the accessories when I get a chance.

Re: 4x4 welding table help
Here is the large accessory piece. As with the table, all the parts are cut with 3/16" mild steel. I allowed .003" clearance around all puzzle tables. 5/8" holes for standard table clamps.

Re: 4x4 welding table help
Here is a shelf and light mount for the table. I cut slots in the shelf panel to make bending by hand easier. Bend the front and back flanges first and then fold the end panels up. Tack weld as necessary. The shelf is 11 ga mild steel and the post mounting pads are 3/16" mild steel with 1 x 1 posts

Re: 4x4 welding table help
I am definitely cutting one of these! I see your .003 gap comment, for laser. Anyone have a suggestion for plasma cutting?

Re: 4x4 welding table help
Motoguy raised a valid concern and since I don't have access to a plasma table, I created a test piece. Cut two of the puzzle test pieces prior to cutting to test your tables offsets. The puzzle tabs should fit into the slots.

Re: 4x4 welding table help
To help hold the table top and slats temporarily until you have the assembly tacked together, cut a handful of these brackets out of some scrap steel. As you assemble, bolt in a few locations to make your life easier.

Im thinking this will work to make sure the holes have no taper after cutting. Any ideas thoughts or comments?
